Trash it Tuesday--File Not Found

Well, I’m back. And totally unprepared for today. I have no stains to wash. No fabrics to dye. Nothing that needs starching. I’m basically posting because I have been doing SOOO good with the daily posting. But is it worth it to post something about nothing? Ahhhh—a philosophical question for this Tuesday.

Yes. To me, yes, it is worth posting to get the post out there. It’s worth it not to break the habit of a daily post. And to figure out what else will be replacing my Throwback Thursday, since I am nearly out of re-posts for Thursdays (seriously…this week…next week…then all new posts as I am out of old posts to transfer). I had thought I would move my book reviews to Thursday and do surprise, whatever I feel like on Saturday. But NOW, after being reinvigorated with learning at last weeks Costume College, I’ve decided to keep up Throwback Thursday….WAY back… I plan to start doing more and more research in to silk history.

I seek the holy grail…of silk knowledge…

I seek the holy grail…of silk knowledge…

So we know silk was cultivated for weaving as early as 3,000 BCE, and not just from legend. But I want to know more. Inspired to dig deeper by the lectures of Elizabeth Wayland Barber, I’m digging in to the research. And thanks to a lecture by Kenna Libes, I have a whole host of new resources to dig through in my quest for knowledge. And with the world’s knowledge available, all you have to do is dig.
