Automatic Reinforcement Stitching
This one confused me at first (it’s the hair…the blonde sometimes needs help). The manual makes it sound really easy. Press the automatic reinforcement stitching button, and the machine will do the work for you.
Now, the first couple of stitches, this did indeed work. But the boyfriend, aka cameraman, had to point out that cutting the stitches and starting a new line of stitching was needed to get The Machine to repeat the trick. So that all worked for STARTING the seam. But what about ending it? The Machine has to be told WHEN the line of stitching ends, or it won’t know when to reverse stitching at the end of the seam.
Turns out, I was WAY overthinking this process. When you just press the reverse stitch button, it will back up one stitch. But if the automatic reinforcement button is lit, pressing the reverse stitch button will back it up three stitches. Same effect can be achieved if the foot pedals are programmed to reverse. Took me three minutes twenty three seconds to figure out a four step process. And I had help! Just when I think I’m learning the tricks, The Machine does something wicked, bad, and naughty. Dang it! Still learning!
