Spray Adhesive: Round 3

Round 3, in a TKO, goes to the Goo Gone! But while the Goo gone TECHNICALLY won, because the spray adhesive is no longer on the silk, ultimately, the win has to go to the spray adhesive. In round 1, the dawn did nothing. In round 2, the baby oil and dawn combination did nothing. In round 3, while the Goo Gone DID get the stain out, it also caused color fade in the silk.

Since the goal is to remove the stain without damaging the silk, the spray adhesive is still the actual winner. The color fade is so subtle I had to wait for the silk to dry to see it, but it is clearly visibly different where the Goo Gone was sprayed versus the original green.

Now to be clear, I do NOT blame Goo Gone. It says very clearly on the back of the bottle DO NOT USE ON SILK. And while the filaments themselves appear unharmed, the color fade is a loss, especially as Dawn and baby oil did not cause any color loss.

So next week, we will revisit spray adhesive on a new scrap of silk, with all new tricks to try at removal.
