Sewing a Stitch
Here it is! Chapter 2! Finally. Chapter 2 starts with Sewing a Stitch. Start by getting in to the sewing menu. If you have already set the machine to the sewing menu from the settings screen, you’re there already. Otherwise, from the home screen, hit the sewing button. Pick the stitch you want to sew. Notice that when you pick the stitch, the machine will tell you what foot needs to be attached for the stitch you want to sew.
Make sure you have the correct presser foot attached, and place the fabric under the needle and presser foot. Lower the presser foot and needle, and pick your speed. Note that both the presser foot and the needle can be raised and lowered either manually through lever at the back of the machine (presser foot), or through the hand crank at the side of the machine (needle), or by pressing the relevant button on the front of the machine.
Notice the start/stop button is green lit. That means you are ready to sew; however, the start/stop button won’t work if the foot pedal is plugged in to the machine.
Now, you can of course stitch using the foot pedal. OR…you can unplug the foot pedal and just press the start/stop button. If you use the button, all you have to worry about is guiding the fabric, no need to worry about controlling the go with the pedal. Once you’re done with your stitching, press the button (or lift your foot off the pedal), press the cut thread button, lift the presser foot, and you’re done!
